Zhanpeng tries in vain to court Ruojun. He asks Yaozong for help. Grabbing the opportunity for a free meal, Yaozong tells Zhanpeng she likes to go to a particular bookshop. Zhanpeng pretends to be at the bookshop by chance. Ruojun is stunned when he expresses his feelings for her. She rejects him and rushes back to see her mother. Meiying is pleased a doctor is wooing Ruojun. Yiqiang is disappointed Ruojun does not try to stop him from leaving for Australia. He decides to help her clean the house before he leaves. In the midst of doing the chores, he suffers a stroke, and she rushes him to the hospital. The stroke leaves him with impairment of movement and speech. With Yiqiang’s family is in Australia, Ruojun has no choice but to take care of him.
