Guang Hui is unable to forgive his mother, Bi Xia, for abandoning him. Xiaohu teaches Bi Xia to gain sympathy through a pretence suicide act which nearly cost her her life. Guang Hui reveals his love for his mother when she was in a coma but turned aloof when she regained conscious.
