While heavily drunk, Tianxiong blurts out that he is Kaixin’s biological father. She is very upset. Unable to forgive him, she chases him out of the house. Tianxiong is staying at Xiaoming’s place temporarily. He tells Jiaxuan that Kaixin is his daughter. Jiaxuan is astounded. He tries his best to patch up with Kaixin but fails. Guodong finds out Jiaxuan and Tianxiong are dating, and invites Tianxiong to his house for lunch. Jiaxuan shows Tianxiong the thumbdrive Yongcheng had mailed her, and gives it to him for safekeeping. Tianxiong sends the thumbdrive to a vendor to get the password cracked. He goes into Xiaoming’s room to borrow his computer to read the files on the thumbdrive, and accidentally stumbles upon a hand-drawn comic showing that Xiaoming has a crush on Kaixin. Tianxiong works toward bringing them together and succeeds. On the thumbdrive is evidence of Lei Zheng’s money-laundering activities. In a dilemma about what to do, Tianxiong puts the thumbdrive in a locker for the time being. On his way to Jiaxuan’s place, Tianxiong is abducted by A-wei. He is confined in a warehouse and beaten up. A-wei tries to force him to reveal Yongcheng’s whereabouts and surrender the evidence, but he remains tight-lipped and is tortured.
