Jia Xuan realises that her ring, given by her late boyfriend, is missing. Tian Xiong manages to find her ring but ends up pawning it after chalking up gambling losses. He lies to Jia Xuan that he could not find the ring. She ends up going out alone late at night to search for the ring. Tian Xiong is guilt-stricken for not returning the ring. Tian Xiong counsels Jia Xuan to let go of the past. She weeps bitterly.
