Assuming Zhengye wants to dismiss her, a devastated Xiaoqiao leaves. Chen Feng and the others realise too late that they have made a mistake, and it is another member of the staff who has resigned. Zhengye worries when Xiaoqiao does not answer his calls. Xiaoqiao wanders into the old office where she and Zhengye used to work. She reminisces over their struggles to bring the company to where it is. Zhengye happens to drop by. His sincerity touches her, and she agrees to stay. Qiyuan’s foster mother, Zhang Ruoyun, returns to Singapore. It has been 20 years since she left, and she is overwhelmed by the tremendous change. She chances upon Xu Tao filming a scene, and gives him acting tips. Elated when praised by the director, Xu Tao insists on buying her lunch. Ruoyun sees a car driving towards a boy who’s picking something up from the road. She rushes over to save him.
