Xiao Qiao, Xue Ling and a few others prepare a steamboat to celebrate Lian Hua's seventieth birthday. Yu Xin's innocent comment causes Lian Hua to miss her second daughter who is not by her side. Gloomily, she walks to the corridor to clear her mind. Noticing that Lian Hua is upset, Chen Feng returns home to ask Ya Long about it and remembers Lian Hua sold her second daughter away. Chen Feng recalls her own birth story, thus evoking some of her thoughts and feelings.
